English II Honors The Tragedy of Julius Caesar Act I, Scene i Setting This scenery is devise in a unexclusive street of Rome. It is the feed of Lupercal in February, and people ar celebrating observation Caesars emanation through the city after his execution over Pompey. Characters Flavius and Marullus who energize a position similar to a police officeholder (tribune) are introduced. The carpenter and deep-dish pie are in like manner introduced. The cobbler has a smart mouth and talks back up to Flavius and Marullus. The 2 are non amused by the commoners. Events Flavius and Marullus come crossways some commoners in the street. They are acting disorderly, so the 2 tribunes order the commoners to return home and get back to work. Marullus starts question the cobbler about his profession and is non amused by his punning replies. Flavius indeed intervenes and asks the cobbler why he is not at work. The cobbler explains that he is taking a course from wor k to observe the triumph parade of Caesars advantage over Pompey. Marullus yells at the cobbler for celebrating this victory because Pompey was not foreign, he was Roman. Act I, Scene ii Setting This scene is set in a public square toes in Rome. It is during the Lupercalia festival in February.
